Welcome to the new Genomics Education Programme website!

The redesigned, rebuilt website is packed full of new and improved features to support health professionals to learn about genomics

Welcome to the new online home of the Genomics Education Programme (GEP).

We listened to your feedback and have spent the last few months working to rebuild and redesign our website from the ground up. This new site includes a wealth of exciting new content, new features and improved functionality, all designed to help make your learning journey easier. Here are some of the highlights:

Bigger, better education collection

You can now easily search through our full range of around 100 educational resources and courses, filtering by key word, professional area, topic or type. We’ve also highlighted the mode of study, time commitment needed and other key details to help you choose the right course or resource for you.

NEW: Dedicated professions pages

We have created specially tailored collections based around key professions and specialisms so you can easily find the information and resources you need for your practice. We have six collections currently, with more in the pipeline.

NEW: Genomics glossary

Who doesn’t love a glossary? With all the clinical and scientific terms that surround genomics, we decided to put together a comprehensive lexicon covering acrocentric to zygote and (almost) everything in between.

NEW: Resource collections for clinical practice

As genomics enters mainstream NHS healthcare, it’s more important than ever to make our just-in-time resources available to all health professionals. We’ve brought together collections of resources based around key areas of practice, including taking a family history and cancer genomics, and there are more in development.

NEW: Bitesize genomics

To answer everyone’s first questions about genomics, we’ve developed a series of concise, interactive guides. Starting with What is genomics? and Where does our genome come from?, these are a perfect starting point for those beginning their genomics learning journey.

More ways to stay up to date

We’ve made it even easier to keep on top of the latest updates with a dedicated genomics blog, and news and events listings, along with a careers page that includes the latest genomics job vacancies. And don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter to get your monthly round-up of all the latest Genomics Education Programme news.
