Genomics education programme shortlisted for HSJ award

First major award nomination for ground breaking education programme

We are delighted to announce that the Health Education England’s Genomics Education Programme (GEP) has been shortlisted for the 2017 HSJ Awards in the category of: ‘Improving Outcomes through Learning and Development’

The GEP team have been invited to present to the judging panel on 6th October with the final decision and winners announced at the awards event on 22nd November in London.

The GEP was founded to deliver the learning and development necessary to enable both current and future NHS professionals to harness the power of genomic medicine for patient benefit. Educating an extremely diverse, 1.5 million-strong workforce is very challenging, and requires a flexible, dynamic approach drawing on best practice across healthcare, education and digital technology.

The whole team are thrilled that their hard work educating the specialist and wider healthcare workforce has been recognised and look forward to presenting to the panel in the coming weeks.
