Definition

A directory that specifies which genomic tests are commissioned by the NHS in England, the technology by which they are available and the patients who will be eligible to access each test.

Use in clinical context

The National Genomic Test Directory is a key part of the NHS Genomic Medicine Service (GMS). It covers the whole spectrum of genomic tests available, from targeted variant testing to whole genome sequencing, and specifies which tests can be offered for each clinical indication.

The test directory is available on the NHS England website.
