This podcast features Dr Anneke Seller, the Scientific Director of the Genomics Education Programme. In this interview, Anneke talks about the Genomics Conversation week and the work of the GEP including the resources and courses available to all health professionals.
The Genomics Conversation
In March 2018, the Genomics Education Programme launched its first annual #GenomicsConversation, which that year was aimed at nurses and midwives.
The aim of the week was to encourage all nurses and midwives to engage with colleagues, patients or friends through social media to start a bigger conversation about genomics and its applications in nursing and midwifery practice.
Key partners from within nursing and midwifery helped us to facilitate the week and increase awareness within their fields. Activities were designed to get people talking, and nurses and midwives were asked to make a pledge to share what they had learned during the week with a colleague or their team.
