Introduction to chromosome analysis by microarray
A one-day workshop exploring the emerging role of microarray testing in healthcare, with CPD accreditation by the Royal College of Surgeons
The North West Coast Genomics Healthcare Alliance in partnership with Liverpool Health Partners will host its one day workshop – ‘An Introduction to Chromosome Analysis by Microarray Techniques’ – on Wednesday 3rd May.
The workshop is aimed at paediatricians, neonatologists, psychiatrists, CAMHS teams, community child health workers and those working with adults with learning difficulties. The aim is to provide education and support so that attendees will be able to confidently consent patients for microarray testing, understand the impact of such testing on the patient and family members, and have an understanding of the different referral pathways for patients depending on test results.
Led by Dr Lynn Greenhalgh, Claire Miller, Pam Harris, Una Maye and Dr E McCann, the initial workshop will be followed by a small group exercise where attendees will practice taking consent and dealing with different types of results.
The day is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons for 2.5 CPD points/hours (this will appear on your attendance certificate).
There is an £80 charge per delegate for the day but subsidised and fully funded places are available for nurses – please view this ‘An Introduction to Chromosome analysis by Microarray techniques’ flier for more details.
