Inaugural meeting of Oxford Genomic Medicine Centre

The Oxford NHS GMC celebrated its local delivery partner engagement work with an event jointly hosted by the Oxford Academic Health Science Network

On Tuesday 27th June the Oxford NHS Genomic Medicine Centre (GMC) welcomed partners to its launch event at the Oxford Belfry. The event jointly hosted by the Oxford Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), provided an excellent opportunity to bring together all those working on the 100,000 Genomes project in the region and present updates on the aims and progress of the project.

The Event attracted speakers from across the region including: Dr Tom Fowler, Deputy Chief Scientist and Director of Public Health at Genomics England, Dr Anna Schuh, Oxford NHS GMC Clinical Programme Director, Dr Bruno Holthof, Thames Valley Cancer Alliance Chair, CEO at OUH NHFT and Dr Ed Blair, Oxford NHS GMC Rare Diseases Lead.

A variety of topics aimed at improving knowledge and understanding of the programme across the region were discussed by the speakers. The meeting concluded with a panel question and answer session which generated some good feedback for the Oxford GMC team.
